In a fit of horny curiosity I programmed the VCR to record this late night movie on HBO, having no knowledge of the film and only a wild surmise of what its contents could be. With the cable box being left on for the night, my devious machinations went not unnoticed by my girlfriend, who found it all quite amusing. We ended up watching it together the following evening, she being more interested in it than I by that point. It was a sex comedy with a male chauvinist plot: a guy, with the aid of his incredibly docile wife (played by Mariel Hemingway) achieves his lifelong ambition of doing a three-way with another woman. But his dreams go terribly awry as his wife finds more satisfaction from the third partner than from him, and pretty soon a parade of women come strolling in heading straight for the bedroom to pay her a visit. It's actually not a bad idea for a film; one capable of subverting the genre to which it's ascribed, but the execution is exceedingly poor. It doesn't even succeed in the titillation department because, well, we never see any tits. Hopefully Hemingway got a fat paycheck for this film, because there is nothing else she could have hoped to gain from this disaster.
