God of Gamblers

With a spectacular opening gambling sequence endowing playing cards and dice with kung-fu acrobatic abilities, God of Gamblers starts off strong, then gets seriously derailed when the super-cool Gambling God (Chow Yun-fat) hurts his head and becomes a blithering idiot.  The film then loses its breath of originality, becoming a lame rip-off of Rain Man with Andy Lau as the Tom Cruise character who alternately takes care of and exploits the idiot savant Chow.  The silver lining is that we get to see Chow ham it up like a baby, and he does it infectiously, though it comes at the expense of the movie.
