The source list
was complied in 1997, a watershed year in Chinese history
(a coming-of-age moment for both Hong Kong and Mainland cinema).
Since then there have certainly been a number of films that
merit placement. My strongest suggestions would be: PLATFORM
FLOWERS OF SHANGHAI WHAT TIME IS IT THERE? YI YI: A ONE AND
A TWO Of course, CROUCHING TIGER HIDDEN DRAGON can't help
but demand placement, if only for its phenomenal international
stature.
