To my chagrin the DVD I purchased lacked subtitles. I gave it the ol' Michael Kerpan effort and tried to discern the plot through visuals and my limited ability to read Chinese subtitles, but after half an hour my valiant efforts gave way to other impulses... I will say that it is visually arresting and the characters are rendered with as much genre-conscious affection as ever in To's career (building in the direction of THROW DOWN)
